Erik Oost, Blinds, 2008. Oil and enamel on linen, 24" X 18".

Kinkead Contemporary energizes summer with a series of five intensive solo exhibitions. Staggered to open every Saturday night for 5 weeks, each project takes place in one room of the gallery and runs for a week and a half. The dynamic formatting encourages a unique hybrid between group show and project space exhibition.
Maura Bendett received her B.F.A. and M.F.A. from UCLA. Her work has been exhibited in group shows such as Pink at Arena 1 Gallery (2007), Flourish at Torrance Art Museum (2006), Contemporary Art Since 1960 at LACMA (2001), and Sig-Alert at the Arizona State University Art Museum (1999). Bendett's work has also been seen in solo exhibitions at Roberts + Tilton (L.A.) and Post Gallery (L.A.) Bendett resides and works in Los Angeles.
Erik Oost received his MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art this spring. Since 2001, Oost's work has been exhibited at Kathleen Cullen Fine Arts (New York), Art Detour (Seattle) and The Museum of Contemporary Art, Detroit. OostÕs work was featured in Alma Mater at Kinkead Contemporary in March of 2008. Recently, Oost was awarded the Daimler Award in Painting. Upon his completion at Cranbrook, Oost relocated to New York.
Earlier this year, Britton Tolliver's work was included in Alma Mater at Kinkead Contemporary. Tolliver's paintings have been included in Summer Group Show at Angell Gallery in Toronto and Can I Borrow Your Spaceship? at Contemporary Art Institute in Detroit, Michigan. He received his MFA from Cranbrook in 2006, and moved to Detroit, Michigan, where he currently lives and works.
After receiving his M.F.A. from Claremont Graduate University, Kyle Kilty attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Kilty's work has been included in group exhibitions at the Torrance Art Museum (2007), The Riverside Art Museum (2006) and the Museum of Fine Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico (2003) among others. Kilty lives and works in Los Angeles.
Kristine Moran received her MFA from Hunter College in New York this year. Moran's most recent solo exhibition took place at Skew Gallery in Calgary. Other solo exhibitions have included The Dissolution Plan at Angell gallery (Toronto) and Blast Radius at Sis Boom Bah (Toronto). Moran lives and works in New York.
